An original collage-sculpture from our Woodman Series, a body of work where we explore the darker moral boundaries of modern selfie culture and the proudly posed, public act of showing off one's handiwork. In this specific piece, the woodsmen pose with a characteristically upbeat pride beside their latest achievement: the removal of upright posts in a Renaissance crucifixion by Antonello da Messina—the pioneering early Renaissance Sicilian master whose 1475 masterpiece stands as one of the most psychologically intense paintings of the fifteenth century. The nature of this intervention is both entirely absurd and profound: the woodsmen, tools firmly in hand, have taken matters into their own capable hands to structurally alter the tragic landscape. By colliding the sacred with the vernacular, the Renaissance with the contemporary, and the deeply tragic with the darkly comic, the woodsman's vandalism has created a visual friction to reward repeated looking and invite endless, open-ended interpretation.
To bring this surreal historical convergence into a physical dimension, we constructed the sculpture as a dense, multi-layered environment using a combination of collage and multiple high-transparency acrylic glass layers. The entire composition is housed within a strict cubic frame measuring 27 cm in width, 27 cm in height, and 27 cm in depth, which we built from 6mm structural mild steel bars that we hand-welded directly in our Granada studio. By displacing the elements of the collage and the figures across sequential, parallel acrylic panes, the work achieves a rich optical depth and volume. This architectural framing provides a heavy, minimalist containment that balances the intricate, floating details of the delicate historical scene within.
The artwork is specifically engineered to be a dynamic, interactive experience of light, depth, and structural shadow. When natural sunlight or a directed gallery spotlight interacts with the piece, the high-transparency acrylic glass layers allow light to pass through the composition, casting an ethereal, shifting shadow theater onto the surfaces behind it. As the light source moves throughout the day, the cast geometric shadows evolve, making the sculpture feel alive and intimately connected to its environment. Because of its complex narrative intersection, this cube stands as an unrepeatable, unique 1-of-1 original in our catalog and accompanied by a signed artist certificate of authenticity by Furst_Ori. It is prepared to ship securely in a protective box, arriving complete with the necessary hooks and wall plugs so it can be integrated seamlessly into your private collection.

Legal Notice & Artistic Nature
This is an original, handmade work of art, produced in a
limited series and intended for collectors and decorative display purposes
only. In the interest of full transparency and the safety of our collectors, we
provide the following information regarding the correct handling and
preservation of the artwork.
Intended Use & Environment
- Indoor
use only. This sculpture is designed exclusively for indoor decorative
display. Exposure to outdoor conditions — including rain, moisture, frost,
or high humidity — will cause corrosion of the metal components and
degradation of the acrylic elements. - Not
a toy. This is a professional artwork and is not intended for children.
Please keep it out of reach of children and pets at all times.
Material Hazards & Handling
- Metal
components may include intentional sharp edges, points, or delicate
structural details inherent to the artistic design. Handle with care
during unboxing and placement to avoid injury or damage to the piece. - Acrylic
elements should not be subjected to excessive pressure or impact, as they
may crack or detach from the metal frame. - Stability:
Place the sculpture on a flat, stable, and sturdy surface capable of
supporting its weight. Avoid high-traffic areas where it could be
accidentally knocked over.
Maintenance & Care
- Cleaning:
Use only a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Never use alcohol, chemical
solvents, or abrasive products — these will permanently cloud, scratch, or
crack the acrylic surface. - Heat
& light: Keep away from open flames, candles, and direct high-heat
sources. Prolonged exposure to intense heat or direct sunlight may warp or
discolour the acrylic components.
