Where ancient mythology meets modernist rigor in a vertical labyrinth of light and shadow, Asterion at the Bauhaus: Study 1 offers a singular, one-of-a-kind rarity from our studio. With this conceptual work, we wanted to ask a playful, highly specific question: What would the mythic Minotaur—Asterion—have created if he had enrolled as a student at the Bauhaus? The result is our version of a "vertical labyrinth"—a sophisticated mixed-media sculpture that reimagines the classical idea of confinement as a study of clean, geometric clarity. It stands as a striking, contemplative centerpiece where the weight of Greek myth meets the sleek, industrial soul of early 20th-century design (even monsters have the right to appreciate architecture).
We designed this sculpture to act as a living blueprint, transforming the wall into a space of architectural mystery. By using layered acrylic panels, we built a physical sense of depth that mimics the corridors of a labyrinth. The combination of polished stainless steel bars and hand-painted acrylic allows the piece to catch and refract ambient light, revealing hidden passages and fine textures as you move around it. When caught by natural sun or a targeted spotlight, our hand-welded framework projects a crisp, structural silhouette, turning the concept of a tower into a three-dimensional shadow-play on your wall.
The craftsmanship behind this piece highlights a rigorous, manual collision of classical draftsmanship and modern engineering in our Granada studio. We painted each individual panel by hand using an airbrush and traditional Indian ink to achieve a textured, atmospheric depth. The labyrinth is housed within a high-precision framework of steel and stainless steel bars that we TIG and MIG welded and hand-polished to a raw, architectural finish. As explicitly indicated in the provenance, this unique 1-of-1 original includes its specialized certificate of authenticity.

Product Safety & Compliance Information
Legal Notice & Artistic Nature
This is an original, handmade work of art, produced in a
limited series and intended for collectors and decorative display purposes
only. In the interest of full transparency and the safety of our collectors, we
provide the following information regarding the correct handling and
preservation of the artwork.
Intended Use & Environment
- Indoor
use only. This sculpture is designed exclusively for indoor decorative
display. Exposure to outdoor conditions — including rain, moisture, frost,
or high humidity — will cause corrosion of the metal components and
degradation of the acrylic elements. - Not
a toy. This is a professional artwork and is not intended for children.
Please keep it out of reach of children and pets at all times.
Material Hazards & Handling
- Metal
components may include intentional sharp edges, points, or delicate
structural details inherent to the artistic design. Handle with care
during unboxing and placement to avoid injury or damage to the piece. - Acrylic
elements should not be subjected to excessive pressure or impact, as they
may crack or detach from the metal frame. - Stability:
Place the sculpture on a flat, stable, and sturdy surface capable of
supporting its weight. Avoid high-traffic areas where it could be
accidentally knocked over.
Maintenance & Care
- Cleaning:
Use only a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Never use alcohol, chemical
solvents, or abrasive products — these will permanently cloud, scratch, or
crack the acrylic surface. - Heat
& light: Keep away from open flames, candles, and direct high-heat
sources. Prolonged exposure to intense heat or direct sunlight may warp or
discolour the acrylic components.
