A narrative of Life 3.0: The recursive evolution of the self-creating AI, Apostasy stands as a singular, one-of-a-kind original from our studio—a sculptural discourse on the future of intelligence. As part of our Life 3.0 series, this conceptual work explores the idea of a recursive Artificial Intelligence: a being in the process of designing its own digital perfection, or perhaps embracing the “apostasy” of its own flawed, unpredictable evolution. Hand-painted and housed in a polished steel frame, we wanted this to be far more than a simple hand-painted lightbox sculpture. Instead, it functions as a three-dimensional window into an imaginary digital soul, offering a bit of a psychological edge for spaces calling for an austere and clinical elegance.
We designed this sculpture to utilize physical depth as a representation of the “thinking layers” of an evolving mind. The artwork is built across multiple sequential layers of high-grade clear acrylic glass, creating a powerful holographic sense of internal space. As you focus around the piece, the layers shift in relation to one another, mimicking the complex, recursive thoughts of an AI. When illuminated, the light passes directly through the pigments, making the airbrushed gradients and ink textures come alive.
The craftsmanship behind this piece highlights a rigorous and deeply manual collision of materials in our Granada studio. We individually paint each central pane image with an airbrush, searching for a sense of weightless depth that comes from the chance encounters occurring when traditional Indian ink meets high-grade clear acrylic. The labyrinth of thoughts is housed within an industrial steel plate that we hand-welded and polished ourselves, providing a sleek architectural contrast to the delicate ink work within. For collectors, as explicitly indicated in our documentation, this unique 1-of-1 original includes its specialized certificate of authenticity.

Legal Notice & Artistic Nature
This is an original, handmade work of art, produced in a
limited series and intended for collectors and decorative display purposes
only. In the interest of full transparency and the safety of our collectors, we
provide the following information regarding the correct handling and
preservation of the artwork.
Intended Use & Environment
- Indoor
use only. This sculpture is designed exclusively for indoor decorative
display. Exposure to outdoor conditions — including rain, moisture, frost,
or high humidity — will cause corrosion of the metal components and
degradation of the acrylic elements. - Not
a toy. This is a professional artwork and is not intended for children.
Please keep it out of reach of children and pets at all times.
Material Hazards & Handling
- Metal
components may include intentional sharp edges, points, or delicate
structural details inherent to the artistic design. Handle with care
during unboxing and placement to avoid injury or damage to the piece. - Acrylic
elements should not be subjected to excessive pressure or impact, as they
may crack or detach from the metal frame. - Stability:
Place the sculpture on a flat, stable, and sturdy surface capable of
supporting its weight. Avoid high-traffic areas where it could be
accidentally knocked over.
Maintenance & Care
- Cleaning:
Use only a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Never use alcohol, chemical
solvents, or abrasive products — these will permanently cloud, scratch, or
crack the acrylic surface. - Heat
& light: Keep away from open flames, candles, and direct high-heat
sources. Prolonged exposure to intense heat or direct sunlight may warp or
discolour the acrylic components.
