A cinematic study of motion, courage, and the leap between frames.

"Avoiding the Void" is a witty three-part narrative that freezes a delicate moment of precariousness. Based on an original airbrush painting and collage by Furst_Ori, this triptych captures a woman in a sequence of three movements as she leaps across the abyss.

Drawing from the pioneering 1887 motion studies of English photographer Eadweard Muybridge, the piece bridges the gap between 19th-century scientific photography and 21st-century industrial sculpture.

The Interaction: A Moving Perspective

This triptych is designed to be a "kinetic" experience for the viewer, even while stationary:

  • Cinematic Sequence: Spaced across three separate steel towers, the woman’s leap unfolds as you move past the artwork, creating a physical sense of time and progress.

  • Vintage Texture & Light: The high-quality acetate prints retain the grainy, historical texture of the original Muybridge studies. When light passes through these transparent layers, the "ghost" of the movement is projected onto your wall.

  • Architectural Depth: The depth of our emblematic steel frames ensures that the shadows shift in intensity depending on the angle of your interior lighting.

Why This Piece is Unique

  • Historical Dialogue: A rare fusion of Victorian-era photographic history and modern Spanish metalwork.

  • The Full Narrative: While many pieces focus on a single moment, this triptych provides a complete "visual theater" of a beginning, a middle, and an end.

  • Strictly Limited Series: Only 12 sets of this triptych will ever be produced, each meticulously assembled by the artists.

The Craftsmanship

  • Emblematic Steel Frames: Hand-welded from raw steel bars, these frames are the signature of Furst_Ori’s "ArtandShadow" practice.

  • Multilayered Acetate Prints: The imagery is printed on high-grade acetate and mounted within a three-dimensional steel structure to maximize transparency and shadow projection.

  • Antique Silver Sheen: Each frame is hand-polished and varnished to achieve a refined, industrial-silver finish.
