Plato’s Cave Revisited

Plato's Cave Revisited: according to the allegory from Plato's Republic, prisoners are chained in such a way that all they can see are shadows on the opposing wall. Their reality is entirely defined by the shadow of the objects, they have no knowledge of the object casting the shadow. Appearance and reality are placed into question. Here the prisoner believes himself to be relieved from his fixed position (but only on Thursdays), in truth he is now one of the sources of the shadow theatre.
