A visual critique of the virtue of self-discovery, this piece draws its irony from the etymology of the word autopsy, which originates from the Greek autopsia, meaning "the act of seeing for oneself." Historically and scientifically, an autopsy is an analytical act reserved exclusively for the examiner, but here we introduce a haunting question mark to that dynamic. By turning the lens inward, the sculpture asks what happens when the subject and the examiner become one and the same, challenging us to look directly at the methodology for viewing our own internal landscape.
To give form to this less than delicate psychological inquiry, we hand-painted the central figure with an airbrush using Indian ink, capturing a sense of vulnerable, weightless depth. A physical thread is connected to the painted tongue, stretching across the space to physically anchor the central image directly to its steel structure. This thread creates a literal, three-dimensional bridge where the fluid lines of the painting seamlessly merge with the rigid geometry of the frame.
The physical object operates on an interplay of contrasting textures and materials. The central element, painted on a clear, high-grade plastic pane, is held within a frame measuring 16 cm in width, 16 cm in height, and 11 cm in depth, which we crafted from 6mm steel bars in our studio. This artisanal steel sculpture framework provides an industrial, minimalist architectural boundary contrasting with the fragile, floating quality of the ink drawing inside. Designed to interact dynamically with its environment, the clear pane allows light to pass through the pigment, casting an ethereal, shifting shadow on the surfaces behind it. This unique, hand-crafted original sculpture is carefully prepared to ship securely in a protective box, with a certificate of authenticity signed by Furst_Ori.

Product Safety & Compliance Information
Legal Notice & Artistic Nature
This is an original, handmade work of art, produced in a
limited series and intended for collectors and decorative display purposes
only. In the interest of full transparency and the safety of our collectors, we
provide the following information regarding the correct handling and
preservation of the artwork.
Intended Use & Environment
- Indoor
use only. This sculpture is designed exclusively for indoor decorative
display. Exposure to outdoor conditions — including rain, moisture, frost,
or high humidity — will cause corrosion of the metal components and
degradation of the acrylic elements. - Not
a toy. This is a professional artwork and is not intended for children.
Please keep it out of reach of children and pets at all times.
Material Hazards & Handling
- Metal
components may include intentional sharp edges, points, or delicate
structural details inherent to the artistic design. Handle with care
during unboxing and placement to avoid injury or damage to the piece. - Acrylic
elements should not be subjected to excessive pressure or impact, as they
may crack or detach from the metal frame. - Stability:
Place the sculpture on a flat, stable, and sturdy surface capable of
supporting its weight. Avoid high-traffic areas where it could be
accidentally knocked over.
Maintenance & Care
- Cleaning:
Use only a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Never use alcohol, chemical
solvents, or abrasive products — these will permanently cloud, scratch, or
crack the acrylic surface. - Heat
& light: Keep away from open flames, candles, and direct high-heat
sources. Prolonged exposure to intense heat or direct sunlight may warp or
discolour the acrylic components.
