The woodsmen are back, and this time, the narrative takes a decidedly less sustainable turn. Unsustainable Intervention is a unique original sculpture from our Woodman Series, a body of work where we explore the darker moral boundaries of modern selfie culture and the proudly posed, public act of showing off one's handiwork. In this specific piece, two woodsmen pose with a characteristically upbeat pride beside their latest achievement: the clean severing of a cable that was, just moments before, sustaining a group of schoolchildren on a zip line. It is a darkly comic, unsettling meditation on complicity, self-documentation, and the staggering gap between human intention and catastrophic consequence. By colliding an atmosphere of cheerful self-congratulation with an implied disastrous outcome, we wanted to create a tension that is simultaneously absurd, haunting, and impossible to look away from.

To give physical form to this dark satire, we structured the piece as a complex multi-component installation where a two-dimensional narrative image is housed within a three-dimensional steel environment. The work consists of three separate structural units crafted from raw 6mm mild steel bars that we hand-welded steel directly in our Granada studio, which together occupy a total wall space of 120 cm in width by 50 cm in height. Within these minimalist architectural frames, the central figures are applied to high-transparency, hand-cut, and polished acrylic glass. The true magic of this arrangement happens when it interacts with the surrounding environment; depending on your room's natural sunlight or a dedicated spotlight, the transparent panes allow light to pass cleanly through the pigment, transforming the structural composition into a small, dynamic shadow theater that projects the illusions onto the wall behind it.

The craftsmanship of this installation celebrates a rigorous manual process, balancing the industrial weight of the hand-welded steel against the crisp, fragile layers of the floating central narrative. Because of the deeply specific, conceptual story it tells, this multi-piece sculpture stands as an unrepeatable, 1-of-1 original in our catalog, making it an excellent centerpiece for collectors who seek avant-garde artwork that challenges social norms and explores the stranger corners of human psychology. This piece also stands as striking conceptual wall art that commands attention in any space. To secure its provenance, the sculpture is hand-signed by us and is supplied with a signed artist certificate of authenticity. It ships securely protected in a custom box, arriving complete with the necessary hooks and wall plugs so it is ready to be installed seamlessly into your collection.

Legal Notice & Artistic Nature

This is an original, handmade work of art, produced in a
limited series and intended for collectors and decorative display purposes
only. In the interest of full transparency and the safety of our collectors, we
provide the following information regarding the correct handling and
preservation of the artwork.

Intended Use & Environment

  • Indoor
use only. This sculpture is designed exclusively for indoor decorative
display. Exposure to outdoor conditions — including rain, moisture, frost,
or high humidity — will cause corrosion of the metal components and
    degradation of the acrylic elements.
  • Not
a toy. This is a professional artwork and is not intended for children.
Please keep it out of reach of children and pets at all times.

Material Hazards & Handling

  • Metal
components may include intentional sharp edges, points, or delicate
structural details inherent to the artistic design. Handle with care
during unboxing and placement to avoid injury or damage to the piece.
  • Acrylic
elements should not be subjected to excessive pressure or impact, as they
may crack or detach from the metal frame.
  • Stability:
Place the sculpture on a flat, stable, and sturdy surface capable of
supporting its weight. Avoid high-traffic areas where it could be
    accidentally knocked over.

Maintenance & Care

  • Cleaning:
Use only a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Never use alcohol, chemical
solvents, or abrasive products — these will permanently cloud, scratch, or
    crack the acrylic surface.
  • Heat
& light: Keep away from open flames, candles, and direct high-heat
sources. Prolonged exposure to intense heat or direct sunlight may warp or
    discolour the acrylic components.
